The Epic Battle for Sunglasses

Image
Vintage baby!!! HA!!! Alright, I fought tooth and nail for vintage glasses. Apparently 'vintage' is back 'in' according to the fashion mags. Whoopeee...big fuckin' deal. What is the big deal is getting them on eBay without a epic bidding battle. I have been searching for (and becoming addicted too) vintage designer branded everything. Mostly accessories. My reason for my new found madness: if it's made in France, Italy and Germany(New York too) and has last for 30 years already in awesome condition; it's probably going last another 30 years. Everything made now these days is disposable. Break it buy and new one. I like keeping my cell phone and a good pair of jeans for more than two years. It's not that hard to treat something with respect and have it last a looooong time. Simple! That's why the designer madeness. So... I did my research and found out which fashion houses were doing the best of the best at the time: Yves Saint Laur

Wolverine - Update

Image
This is the update: ALMOST DONE!!!! I added some more of his torso and then did the India ink wash. Soon I will add more contrast to the arms, and then the little details to the face and hair. I love how it's not looking like crap even two weeks after I started it. Yay! *does a dance*

I have no idea why magazines tell people vintage is in 'style', when it's never stopped being in style. Well except for parachute pants and neon pink leg warmers. So my vintage sunglasses hunt is become harder, cause I guess they are in high demand. UGH! I just want my vintage Dior sunglasses, and if I loose one more Ebay auction... I'M GOING TO BECOME VIOLENT!! Anyways... more Fashion Fiends. "My bag bitch!"

Fashion Fiend: II

Another fashion fiend set. I did another drawing before this, however it is in color, and it did NOT turn out so well. Trial and error. Fak. Saw Prada's show.... eggghhhhhh. I'm ok on it. Did see the haute couture Dior line for...Spring 2009 I think: FABULOUS!!! And finally realized why Dita Von Teese is a favorite of men, because of the simple fact that she is absolutely stunning.

I've been reading fashion magazines! And I love zombies! Been spending waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much time in Ebay: Dior, Coach, Chanel, Cartier, Ted Lapidus, Givenchy, and of course Louis Vuitton. The new stuff is ok, but vintage is what really makes my heart (and my wallet) sing. Louis Vuitton's Marc Jacob infused fall preview for 2009/2010 is awesome!!!! OMG!! I want most of those bags and a couple of heels. And only LV would make me wear a dress again, that's how good that show is! Louis Vuitton Fashion Show Fall 2009/10 It's gothic lotita, victorian-esque, and a lot of wonderful textures. The sumer show for 2009 is "Eeehhhh ...ok". Very tribal, too bad those damn handbags aren't on the market. The select few handbags they picked for their summer collection are nothing compared to the show. Whatever. Guess I'll have to buy me some $15,000 hand made awesomeness when I reach 'posh' status. The things I have to do to get great looking art....
